>> Sub: Don't open if u can't FWD... (IT'S REALLY EFFECTIVE) Mahalakshmi worth a try *
The body of mail was as follows:
>>
>> Please send 10 copies and see what happens in 4 days.
>>
>> If you don't send, bad luck will come to you immediately.
>>
I intentionally opened the mail and immediately replied as follows:
>
>For the fools who have forwarded this mail.....
>Correct the subject
>from "Don't open if u can't FWD"
>to "Don't open if u don't want to FWD"
>
>Wise people with a little common sense will not intend to forward such shit mails, because they don't want to cause any inconvenience to anyone.
>If you were wise then you could have stopped this mail chain by not forwarding it to any one.... you chose to be idiots and over that your subject line sounds as if this is a very informative or urgent mail and that people who receive it don't have any sense of service......
>I opened this mail only to write this reply...
>Please do not forward such mails, even if you happen to read all the crap written in it....
>
We receive many such mails related to Luck, Spirituality and God. Most of such mails comprise of
> You will definitely receive some good news in 48 hours!!!!
-
> This really works. Don't neglect it, or God will punish you.
-
> Believe in God, get Good Luck today.
> Ignore God, get Bad Luck from today.

We also receive promotional-mails originated by intermediate vendors and local sales persons like the following:
>Subject: FW: free laptops
>Dear All,
>Ericsson are distributing free laptops for their brand promotion. They are hoping to increase their popularity and sales with this campaign.
>All you need to do is send an email about this promotion to 8 people and you will receive an Ericsson T18 laptop.
>However, if you send an email to 20 people or more you will receive an Ericsson R320 laptop.
>Kindly ensure that you cc to Anna at Ericsson so that she will know you have sent the email.
>Make sure you copy Anna@Ericsson.co.uk to your emails.
You can
Do you ever wonder if the email is a valid one?
I've sent mails to all such IDs intimating that their mail-ID is being spammed by advertisements like above.
Some mail-IDs were not existent, and some declined my mail.
Some revived my mail, and no one replied.
If at all the person owning the above ID (if it is existent) is not playing an unofficial promotional game, then someone else is playing hard with her.
We have IT laws to punish such people who give our mail-IDs and personal details over internet, without our consent. At the least, we can get our details removed from the concerned website.
During a casual discussion over this topic on a weekend, my friend said "We can tackle with people playing with loopholes in IT. How can we deal with people playing with our emotions and relations?".
I was dumb-struck and I lost myself into a deep thought for rest of the day.
He is correct. We cannot!
You may reply a serious note to an unknown person sending such junk mails.
You can block eMails from some unknown person sending such junk mails/scraps/SMS.
You can terminate the conversation with an unknown, if he is propagating such things.
Can you ignore/retreat family-member/friend/acquaintance if they promote any orthodox belief ?
I assure you, NO.
We find many such people around us.
Though we are spiritual and daily offer prayers to God, we do not like what he is saying, but cannot refuse him.
"I got a huge-luck by filled the booklet given in SaiBaba temple. Now I have to give ten copies to ten people. Take this fill it and soon you'll also get luck. Then circulate ten copies to people you know. Do not ignore to fill your copy. Otherwise it will make Baba angry."
"This is Gayatri Stothram. Enchant it regularly and circulate ten copies of it to your friends. Otherwise bad luck will come to you."
"If you do not sacrifice a lamb during this ceremony, then the child will bear the curse."
"If you do not break a coconut on Grandpa's tomb, then his soul will not rest in peace."
Holy Crap!
These people fell pray to someone's ploy.
Or they are planning to paint their thoughts on our mental-frame.
God never wanted any publicity or propaganda.
People pay rituals to God out of tradition. Devotees visit temple and perform duties out of belief.
There is a proverb in Telugu -"One can take a horse to the pond, but cannot make it drink".
And though it knows that the pond is inhabited with crocs it wont stop when feeling thirsty.
Those who promise water from a mirage, will regret the distrust of everyone, today or tomorrow.
Good one Granpa
